WATER EFFICIENCY 2006 CONFERENCE REPORT

In 2004, AWA hosted the first national water efficiency conference 'Water Efficiency 2004 - Best Practice and Regulations'. Due to the success of this conference, the national Water Efficiency Conference will be held biennially. This year, AWA's Victoria Branch Regional Conference incorporated this national initiative, 'Water Efficiency 2006 - Getting the Supply-Demand Balance Right'. Experts involved in water efficiency from cities and regional centres around the country came together in Ballarat on 13 October 2006 to discuss the latest work in water efficiency in Australia. Topics covered in Water Efficiency 2006 focused around integrated resource planning and included water demand forecasting; identifying and designing options for the supply-demand balance; and implementation and evaluation of water efficiency programs.
