It is long overdue, but at last our community, business and political leaders are acknowledging the reality of climate change, driven by the build-up of greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide and methane. Human induced climate change demands an urgent and aggressive, multi-lateral response to reduce and mitigate the impact of rising global temperatures, changing weather patterns and rising sea levels. Stabilisation of climate change must be the priority for the global community. At the same time we must embark on a course of adaptation to the impacts of climate change now under way.
