CHANGE AND SUSTAINABILITY

When we talk about making our urban water systems more sustainable we need to acknowledge the many uncertainties that may influence the outcomes. But at least one thing seems certain; change is inevitable. While the degree of change may be contested, with some commentators (including me) arguing for radical shifts and others arguing that less change is required, it seems appropriate to think of sustainability as a journey to an uncertain destination.
