THE WESTERN CORRIDOR RECYCLED WATER PROJECT PART 1. OVERVIEW AND UPDATE

The Western Corridor Recycled Water Project in South East Queensland is one of the world's largest advanced water treatment projects. Delivered by Western Corridor Recycled Water Pty Ltd on behalf of the Queensland Government, the project as a whole will have the capacity to recycle 232ML/d of water for industrial use, indirect potable use and possibly irrigation. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of December 2008. This paper provides an update on the status of the project by May, 2008, key issues that have arisen in the delivery of the project and a comparison of the project with similar international activity.
