For many years in the last century, engineers had been grappling with the problem of how to connect pipes that had become bent, sloped or were not in a straight line. One of them, Immanuel Straub, who lived in a small picturesque village set in the mountains of Switzerland, came up with the perfect solution. In 1967 the Straub pipe coupling was born. It is an axial restraint but flexible pipe joint that compensates angular deflection and misalignment of pipes and is bolt easy to fit and reusable. Since then the name Straub has become synonymous for expertise, quality and reliability.
