Trenchless technology is one of those good ideas which has been predicted as having the potential to do great things since its early days back in the 1970s. Since then, progress has been somewhat patchy - not helped perhaps by the difficulty in defining exactly what 'trenchless technology' is. But in the last few years it looks as if this disparate range of techniques has finally come into its own.
