Papers Sought For Water Research Special Issue

IWA research journal Water Research has invited submissions for a forthcoming special issue that will focus on the cross-validation of methods for the detection and quantification of microbial pathogens and indicators of faecal pollution. There will be an emphasis on the practicality of molecular-based methods and how they relate to one another, and to traditional methods that focus on faecal indicator bacteria (FIB), that compare multiple methods in a given sample matrix including freshwater, seawater, and treated water. Solid matrices such as sediments and beach sand, that are in frequent contact with water, will also be considered. Specific topic areas for papers include: 1.comparison of newly-developed molecular methods to detect pathogens and indicators with traditional FIB-based methods in a variety of aqueous environments;
