Peru receives loan for improved sanitation and supply

The Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) is providing an 'unprecedented' $72 million grant from the bank's Spanish Fund to increase coverage of drinking water and basic sanitation in rural communities and small towns within Peru's poorest regions.rnThe funding will help 380 rural communities and small towns in the Apurimac, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica and Puno regions, improving the lives of around 206,000 people who currently either have no service or substandard facilities.
