The problem is, that the seal to the check valve in the boundary box may have perished since its installation up to 30 years ago, and will now allow water to re-enter the public water mains system, with the potential to carry with it contaminants and a risk to public health. Traditionally, the only way to address this problem would have been to replace the whole boundary box with a full excavation in the public footpath with attendant costs of anything between £250 and £1250 per incident being suggested. However, a proven cost effective and reliable solution is available through keyhole surgery and the use of our patented NRv~2® system. Quite simply, NRv~2 is designed to be used as a non-return valve to remedy failing apparatus, and /or if installed in series, offers the facility of a double check valve for"whole site"protection against back flow, with minimal head loss.
