Sinking under global warming

The Met Office's Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research shows that climate change will accelerate because carbon dioxide will be released from soils and decaying forests as the climate warms. Other research warns against relying on 'sinks'—where forests are planted as a means of combating climate change by soaking up greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere—because they also absorb more sunlight which would contribute to global warming.
