FOUR TRENDS TRANSFORMING GOVERNMENT

Government is now being transformed. In governments around the world - at the federal, state, and local levels -major change is taking place in how government operates and does business. It is clearly not business as usual. Since 1998, the IBM Center for The Business of Government has been studying the substantial changes now under way in government. Based on years of research on the changing ways of doing business in government, the Center has identified four significant trends that are now transforming government: 1. Trend One - Changing Rules; 2. Trend Two - Emphasizing Performance; 3. Trend Three - Improving Service Delivery; 4. Trend Four - Increasing Collaboration.
