The Conference of Mayors' Urban Water Council has stepped forward to propose how to create some level of certainty in an uncertain environment. Municipal water and wastewater services are critical to public health and safety. They help drive our local and metropolitan economies and they protect our ecosystems and our ability to achieve sustainable cities. Given the rising cost to provide the services and infrastructure, and the growing impacts of climate change on water resources and public infrastructure, it is clear that local government needs more and better cooperation from the federal government and greater access to private equity and expertise.
