The Department of Justice (DOJ) is urging the Supreme Court to reject New Mexico's novel bid to directly sue Colorado over its contribution to the 2015 Gold King Mine wastewater spill, saying the justices should either dismiss the suit outright as improper or put it on hold indefinitely to allow a district court case over the spill to conclude.
