EPA Sends PFAS Groundwater Cleanup Guide For White House Review

EPA has sent for White House interagency review its final interim guidance for addressing per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in groundwater, a policy that will test concerns that the Pentagon may have sought to pre-empt the screening levels EPA had floated in a draft version of the document. The White House Office of Management & Budget (OMB) reported it received EPA's interim recommendations to address groundwater contaminated with two PFAS — perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) — Dec. 11, according to OMB's website.
