ČVTVHS, odborná skupina odpadní vody a čistota vod, uspořádala dne 8. listopadu 2008 v Praze na Novotného lávce jednodenní odborný seminář na téma: „Vypouštění odpadních vod do vod povrchových, podzemních a do kanalizací." Cílem odborného semináře bylo seznámit především pracovníky vodoprávních úřadů, provozních a projektových organizací ve vodním hospodářství a odbornou vodohospodářskou veřejnost se současným stavem na úseku povolování vypouštění odpadních vod.%The article deals with the description of the Roman water law which has no small influence on the development of the Czech water law - especially in the 19th century and in the beginning of 20th century. Some ideas resulting from principles of the Roman juridical theory are still vital today. For example we can introduce the Parliamentary Document No 688/0 (Governmental Proposal of Amendment to the Water Act) and the subsequent discussion about the term ,object without owner") (,res nulli-us"). In the second part of the article the history of Roman law and its codification at the time of Justinian is being described. To illustrate the general conception of the Roman water law, the basic legal term ,object" is briefly described. Public rivers were classified among objects outside of commerce, specifically, as objects which belong to the Roman nation. In the fourth part of the article of some texts (including translations) of the collection "Digesta" are presented. The article ends with a reflection on the topicality of some principles of the Roman water laws, which could be used even now for contributing to the creation of Czech water law.
