Yellow Snow at Yellowstone

On the outskirts of Yellowstone National Park near Big Sky, Montana, a private golf course and ski resort called the Yellowstone Club received permission in June from the Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to extend its annual ski season by making artificial snow from wastewater. Big Sky County Water and Sewer District wastewater will make 80% of the wastewater used for the artificial snow, and Sewer District will provide the remaining 20% from the club's onsite water resource recovery facility.
