Wawttar: A planning tool for selecting wastewater treatment technologies

Significcint progress has been made during the last 30 years to improve the effluent quality of municipal wastewater treatment systems. Virtually all older facilities have been significantly upgraded, and most systems constructed since the early 1970s have implemented treatment technologies that produce an effluent quality significantly higher than was the norm prior to the passage of the Clean Water Act.
