Selling reclaimed water to industrial users seems to be a perfect way for utilities to augment drinking water supplies and become more sustainable. But it's crucial for water utilities to consider carefully the water-quality needs for - and effects of - industrial and agricultural reuse before initiating or expanding a reuse program.
