Implementation of supra-local drinking water asset management policies: A study of the Rhone department, France

The AQUADEP project (2008-2012) looked at the characterisation, assessment and monitoring of departmental drinking water policies in France. As part of this project, the allocation of funding for pipe renewal in the Rhone department was studied. Eddy Renaud, Aurore Large and Estelle Martin discuss the outcomes of the funding policy used by the Rhone department with regards to pricing disparity, asset management and water loss reduction and how it can be improved.
