Two Caterpillar plants reach zero

Two Caterpillar facilities in England achieved zero waste to landfills in 2010, the company said. The Caterpillar Remanufac-turing and Components Division United Kingdom Hose Assembly plant in Leicester and the Caterpillar Logistics Services operation in Desford have reached the 100% recycling level in their respective facilities, Caterpillar said. "Caterpillar recognizes that providing sustainable solutions starts with having sustainable operations," said Doug Oberhel-man, the company's chairman and CEO. "That's why we've established corporate long-term goals focused on sustainability for all of our operations worldwide. One of those operational goals is to eliminate waste by reducing waste generation and reusing or recycling all that remains."
