摘要

The amount of solid waste generated in Morocco, as is the case in developing countries, poses a serious threat to the environment and public health, given the fact that the current conditions of collection, transporta-tioa landfilling or recycling of this waste are clearly insufficient Law 28-00 lays down the rules and basic principles related to waste management and disposal. Solid waste must be disposed of in controlled and monitored landfills to limit the impact of waste on the environment. Indeed, most of the municipal waste is disposed of in landfills without prior treatment to reduce and control the impacts of this waste on the surrounding environment. Interest in landfills, whose implementation is wild and spontaneous, has grown considerably and priority action was given to control the impacts caused by this uncontrolled proliferation. Thus, several landfill sites have been subjected to an environmental impact assessment, rehabilitation operations and transfer request to reduce the nuisance due to lack of good management and proper location.
