Long-serving Australian frigates sold to Chile

The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) decommissioned the last of its Adelaide-class guided missile frigates (FFGs) in 2019, with both ships laid up at Fleet Base East in Sydney Harbour. Last November the two frigates were placed into the Captain Cook Graving Dock for a brief refit, including the removal of various fittings and armaments, and the hull repainted for their new owners, the Armada de Chile (the Chilean Navy).
