How is Hero Honda utilizing telecom and ICT in facilitating connectivity within the organization? At Hero Honda, connectivity plays a major role to help business managers achieve their business goals by enabling access to applications and data at all times. We have a wide variety of communication links across the organization. This includes a mesh network of IP VPNs and point-to-point links for accessing enterprise applications across locations. These range from links of 1 to 2 MB capacity for smaller locations to a number of DS3 based connectivity links-both for primary and secondary connectivity for all our plants, head office and marketing offices spread across the country. In addition, we have links connecting our dealers, disaster recovery site and some other locations. Apart from this, we provide access to email, most key workflows and other information on mobile phones and access of relevant systems to our dealers and key suppliers. These links across plants are also utilized for intra-office voice and video communication. Apart from this we are effectively using mobile devices for accessing specific information.
