摘要

The study of archeology is the study of human-made artifacts. An artifact is anything made and used by humans, which has been preserved over time and later found. It can range from being something as simple as a charred rock from an ancient campfire to a beautifully symmetrical stone arrowhead, to intricately decorated ceramic pottery. The purpose of collecting and preserving such materials is the hope that such things would help to give a better understanding of the people who made them. These ancient people's lifestyle, how they survived and subsisted, is what archeologists hope to reconstruct by studying the artifacts these ancient people left behind.
