Helmet Required when Riding Electric Bikes

The Ministry of Transport has issued a document responding recommendation of the nation's voters sent to the third meeting session of XIIth National Assembly relating to technical safety standard and circulation management applied to electric bikes and motorbikes. Accordingly, Vietnamese Standard 5929:2005 shall be applied to motorbikes and Vietnamese Standard 7448:2004 shall be applied to electric bikes for checking and testing their technical safety. Regarding the circulation management, the Ministry proposed the Government to conduct technical safety checking, plate registration and granting for electric motorbikes only. For safety, people using electric bikes or motorbikes must wear hel-mets.
