Confidentiality and data security are important considerations for any business, regardless of size. In addition to the perennial threats of data loss and viruses, companies, particularly those employed in the oil and gas sector, multinational corporations and banks and financial institutions, have had to become increasingly vigilant in order to restrict incidents of unsanctioned access to information, whether this data has to do with profits, strategies, tenders and pitches or even just employees' personal details. Additionally, it is imperative that data sent or received by representatives of local or regional government, as well as military units and police forces, does not fall into the wrong hands for want of better communications security.
