So, like a growing number of drivers, the 36-year-old Columbus, Miss., child-care-facility manager took to the Internet. At Progressive Insurance's Web site, Hyde punched in his personal information and immediately got a quote for $978-a savings of $326. A few days later, he bought the policy online—at 10:30 Saturday night.
