Housing Policy and Housing Finance in the Czech Republic during Transition: An Example of the Schism between the Still- living Past and the Need of Reform

摘要

Martin Lux is a housing researcher who has committed himself to studying the changes of housing systems in transition countries focusing especially on those taking place in the Czech Republic, his home country. His new book addresses three important areas of housing research: it is a strong monograph on the housing sector in the Czech Republic; it puts housing development in the Czech Republic into a comparative perspective of changes of the housing model in transitional countries; and, it offers a critical analysis of the efficiency and effectiveness of housing policies based on a sound empirical and theoretical framework.
