THE tenders for two onshore packages for Saudi Aramco's Zuluf incremental project have been affected by delays, slowing a process that could result in $8 billion worth of contracts. Two people with direct knowledge of the tenders told Upstream that Aramco has pushed back until next month the bid submission deadline for the engineering, procurement and construction packages. "Bids were earlier expected to be submitted on 12 August, but Aramco recently communicated to the bidders that the submission will be delayed at least by a month," one person said. The expansion of the giant Zuluf oilfield in the Persian Gulf is a key element of Saudi Arabia's strategy to boost its crude production capacity to 13 million barrels per day.
