Duo paves way for Noaka push

AKER BP and Equinor are closing in on concept selection and engineering contract awards for the $6.72 billion Noaka offshore development project in the Norwegian North Sea. After several years of wrangling about competing development solutions and over operatorship of the Noaka discoveries, Aker BP and Equinor finally agreed a joint development solution last year. With Aker BP named as operator of the North of Alvheim (NoA) and Fulla licences, and Equinor as operator of the Krafla licence -which holds both the Krafla and Askja discoveries - the contracting process is finally ready to move forward.
