Jaguar in hunt for Mexican gas riches

MEXICO'S Jaguar E&P is stepping up its pursuit of a targeted 10% share of the country's output with a phased increase in drilling capacity. The company, which is part of Monterrey-based Grupo Topaz, was created in response to Mexico's market-opening energy reform of 2013. With the ending of the monopoly of state oil giant Pemex, Jaguar built up the biggest onshore exploration programme of any private company, currently covering 10 blocks. These are situated mainly in the Burgos basin - just south of the Texas border - but also in the Tampico-Misantla basin of northeaster Mexico.
