Saka Energi making moves at Pangkah off East Java

INDONESIAN oil and gas company Saka Energi is moving ahead with expansion activities on its Pangkah production sharing contract offshore East Java, Indonesia. The operator has contracts with Indonesian engineering companies to perform field development concept studies and aims to move into the front-end engineering and design phase later this year, said Jakarta-based industry sources. Two new wellhead platforms and associated subsea tie-in equipment will be required as a part of the expansion. The Pangkah permit contains the producing Ujung Pangkah field and several satellites, including Sidayu and West Pangkah. Engineering, procurement, construction and installation contracts for Sidayu and West Pangkah were awarded in late 2019 and early 2020, but it is not known if those fields have come on stream yet. Earlier this year, Saka issued bid invitations to contractors interested in providing circulation drilling tools to support Saka's operation at the Ujung Pangkah field, East Java Offshore. The estimated duration of the contract period was 180 days and was expected to start in April 2021, according to the bid invite posted on Saka's website.
