Boost for Orinduik partners

A Tullow Oil-led consortium has extended the exploration period for the Orinduik block offshore Guyana as Qatar Petroleum (QP) and France's Total sealed a farm-in deal with the formation of a new joint venture. Minority stakeholder Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas said this week that the Orinduik partners have entered a first renewal period, running through to January 2023. Guyana's Department of Energy has also formally approved the assignment of Total's 25% stake to TOQAP, an entity that is 60% owned by Total and 40% by QP. QP in mid-2019 signed a deal with Total to farm in to Orinduik and another block offshore Guyana, Kanuku, where the French supermajor is a partner but Spanish major Rep-sol operates.
