Castberg sailaway delayed

SAILAWAY of Equinor's problem-hit floating production, storage and offloading unit for the Johan Castberg oilfield development off Norway has been hit with another delay, but the operator is still targeting start-up in less than three years. Last August, Upstream revealed that the Norwegian state-controlled operator was forced to check every weld seam on the floater hull at Sembcorp Marine (Semb-marine) in Singapore due to quality issues. In October, Equinor reported that the Johan Castberg project would be delayed by one year, with first output planned for the fourth quarter of 2023.
