Norway well for MOL

HUNGARIAN player MOL has won approval from Norwegian authorities to drill an exploration well close to the Valhall field. The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate gave MOL the go-ahead to drill the 2/9-6 S wildcat on the Eidsvoll prospect with the Maersk Drilling jack-up Maersk Integrator. The well, to be drilled in about 70 metres of water on MOL-operated production licence 617, will test hydrocarbon potential mainly in the Upper Eidsvoll reservoir at the Upper Jurassic-aged structure, with expectations for an oil discovery.
