摘要

GERMANY'S hydrocarbon reservoirs may be in terminal decline but the country still managed last year to produce around 14.6 million barrels of crude and 215 billion cubic feet of gas. Every drop is needed to complement a growing reliance on imports of renewable energy and conventional fuels. Ludwig Moehring, chief executive of the Hanover-based Association of Gas, Oil & Geothermal Energy (BVEG), is convinced much of this can come from North Africa, where German industry has a strong presence.
