OneSubsea heads the chase for Mero-3 trees

SCHLUMBERGER-OWNED OneSubsea has emerged as the front runner to potentially win a multi-million-dollar deal with Brazilian state-controlled player Petro-bras to supply highly specialised subsea trees to serve the Mero-3 project in the Santos basin pre-salt province. Three subsea sources told Upstream that OneSubsea has apparently edged out rivals Aker Solutions, TechnipFMC and Baker Hughes and moved into pole position to be awarded the contract. The four companies submitted commercial bids a couple of months ago in a tender calling for the manufacture and supply of 11 subsea trees to assist Mero-3, which is due to enter operation in 2024 via the MISC-owned Mare-chal Duque de Caxias floating production, storage and offloading vessel.
