Hydrogen now top priority

HYDROGEN has surged up the oil and gas sector's list of priorities when it comes to meeting decarbonisation targets, new research suggests. More than half of the senior oil and gas professionals questioned by technical advisory firm DNV GL expect the carbon-free production, transmission and distribution of hydrogen to be a significant part of the energy mix by 2030. And even with the Covid-19 crisis and collapse in oil prices, they think the time is right to begin scaling up the hydrogen economy, according to the study.
