Woodside boss speaks out over Karratha toll delays

THE chief executive of Australian operator Woodside Petroleum has voiced his frustration over negotiations dragging out for tolling arrangements for its proposed Browse and Scarborough developments in Western Australia. A tolling agreement for the North West Shelf joint venture's Karratha gas plant is needed for Woodside and its partners to make a final investment decision for the development of the Browse gas resource. An arrangement had been expected by mid-year. However, in June, Woodside chief Peter Coleman revealed talks had been reset with the view of having a specific Browse agreement in place by the time the project enters front-end engineering and design towards the end of 2019.
