Chevron and Pertamina still set to drill at Rokan

INDONESIAN authorities are hoping that US supermajor Chevron will undertake its earlier agreed 2020 drilling campaign at the Rokan production sharing contract onshore Sumatra, an asset it will next year cede to state-owned Pertamina. Chevron was originally going to drill 115 wells between November 2020 and August 2021 on the mature Rokan block, which is the nation's second largest oil producing asset, according to SKK Migas deputy head Fatar Yani Abdurrahman. The first campaign of 11 wells, which could bring on stream some 3000 barrels per day of oil, is due to get under way in November.
