AUSTRALIAN independent Santos has revealed a delay of at least several months in the timing of its Dorado oilfield development off Western Australia. The company was expected to enter front-end engineering and design work on the planned development during the current quarter but last week revealed the project is now expected to enter FEED in the third quarter. Santos noted it had made progress in other areas of the project, receiving expressions of interest for the wellhead platform, while preparation of the field development plan and offshore project proposal is progressing as it targets the final investment decision in 2021. The initial phase of Dorado is a liquids development followed by a future phase of gas export. Santos has previously pegged estimated resources at Dorado at 310 million barrels of oil equivalent, consisting of 158 million barrels of oil and 628 billion cubic feet of gas.
