ABU Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has further delayed the commercial bid submission for a front-end engineering and design contest for its $1.5 billion-plus Umm Shaif gas cap project. Project watchers said that the price offers for the much-delayed gas cap development project are now expected to be submitted by the middle of the month. "Adnoc was earlier aiming for a commercial bid submission for the project's engineering, procurement and construction stage on 3 May but we hear that the deadline will be pushed forward until 15 May," one person said. A second source claimed that there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding many oil and gas projects in the emirate, and Adnoc could yet further delay the tender process for the gas cap development, if the coronavirus situation continues to worsen. Adnoc last year initiated the Umm Shaif gas cap FEED tender but the process has been delayed by several months.
