MOZAMBIQUE President Filipe Nyusi's government is paying the price for ignoring the growing threat posed by Islamist insurgents in the country's remote, restive and gas-rich Cabo Degado province. Alex Vines, head of the Africa programme policy research institute at London-based Chatham House, said the situation has seriously deteriorated. "It's going to get worse. It looks to me as if the insurgents are becoming more brazen and ambitious," he commented.
