CONOCOPHILLIPS is preparing to start the early engineering and design work on a new oilfield development in shallow water off Sarawak. Sources said a number of engineering houses are competing for a contract for a concept feasibility study on the joint development of the Salam and Patawali discoveries in Block WL4-00. Engineering houses that typically compete for pre-FEED and FEED work in Malaysia include Aker Solutions, MMC Oil & Gas, RNZ, TechnipFMC or its subsidiary Genesis, and Worley.
