Cost overrun and new delay at Martin Linge

EQUINOR has been hit by a further cost overrun and a fresh delay of about six months on its troubled Martin Linge field project off Norway, as well as higher costs on its Njord Future redevelopment, writes Steve Marshall. The investment estimate for Martin Linge has now increased by Nkr7.9 billion ($865.6 million) to more than Nkr56 billion, which is up 85% from the original figure of Nkr30.3 billion given in the original plan for development and operation approved in 2012, according to the latest project estimates disclosed in the state budget on Monday, based on the current value of the kroner.
