Senegal delays licensing round until 4 November

SENEGAL has delayed presentation of its forthcoming licensing round until 4 November, Energy Minister Mahamadou Makhtar Cisse reportedly said at an energy conference in Cape Town this week. The announcement effectively postpones the launch until the Africa Oil Week conference, also scheduled to be held in Cape Town at that time, though the delay was said to be to allow contract documents to be finalised. The six-month bidding exercise will seek suitors for up to a dozen blocks, according to state owned Petrosen managing director Mamadou Faye.
