RUSSIAN operators have agreed to send more liquefied natural gas to international markets after 2023, with decisions to go ahead with two projects announced at the end of the last week at an economic forum in the far eastern port of Vladivostok. The country's largest independent gas producer Novatek and its foreign partners in the Arctic LNG 2 project have made a final investment decision on the ambitious scheme. Also, a top executive with Ros-neft revealed that shareholders in the Sakhalin 1 consortium have decided to build an LNG plant in the Khabarovsk region. Novatek said that under the Arctic LNG 2 plan, the first train of the facility will start operations in 2023, while the second and third trains are due to come on line in 2024 and 2026.
