BRAZIL and Japan are at opposites on the globe, but the history of Japan's Modec and the market for floating production, storage and offloading vessels in the land of samba and football is intertwined, and has more than meets the eye. Having built a solid track record over more than 15 years of operation in a country that hosts a sizeable chunk of its FPSO fleet, Modec played a key role in the transformation of the floater industry in Brazil.
