ITALY'S Eni has deepened its upstream involvement in the United Arab Emirates, securing offshore exploration blocks in the main oil-producing emirate of Abu Dhabi and neighbouring Shar jah, write Nassir Shirkhani and Nishant Ugal. In Abu Dhabi, state-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) awarded two offshore blocks to a partnership of Eni and Thailand's PTTEP in its first-ever competitive bid round.
