ITALY'S Saipem has landed a key front-end engineering and design contract from QatarGas for a substantial offshore contract centred on the giant North Field off Qatar. At least two industry sources told Upstream that Saipem has been awarded an integrated FEED contract for the next stage of QatarGas' North Field Sustainabil-ity Project, which aims to maintain the production profile of the huge gas field. One project watcher said Saipem has already initiated work on the FEED study.
